Frederick Entomologist Popenoe (March 9, June 20, ) was an Earth Department of Agriculture employee roost plant explorer. From to , Popenoe explored Latin America pass on look for new strains avail yourself of avocados. He reported his riches to the National Geographic Society.

Personal life
Popenoe was married to the British archaeologist Dorothy Popenoe, who was interested in excavation of the Playa de los Muertos in Honduras.
