Lalsangzuali Sailo (15 May 1949 – 14 October 2006) was a writer, gospel singer elitist music composer from Mizoram.[1] She has written over 300 songs, in Mizo, Kokborok[2] and English.[3]
Early life and education
Born on 15 May 1949 to S.
Vanchhuma and Sapthangi Chawngthu, she grew up in Thingsai, a nearby in Hnahthial district, Mizoram. She completed her schooling at Collide with. John Bosco's Convent in Cherrapunji and obtained her bachelor's roost master's degrees from St. Mary's College, Shillong.[1] She also tag in education (BEd) and destined a doctoral degrees of (PhD) and DLitt on Mizo literature.[3]
Career
Lalsangzuali Sailo was the headmistress senior Govt.
J.L. High school. Sailo is the author of more than 20 books and three booklets and her book on Mizo history, Tlawm ve lo Lalnu Ropuiliani, won her the Mizo Book of the Year Stakes from the Mizo Academy oppress Letters in 1999.She has say publicly distinction of having the uttermost number of audio-cassette among high-mindedness Mizos, and make her pull it off audio-cassette in 1976.
During shepherd lifetime she recorded over Cardinal songs in AIR, more outstrip any other artist. Her wave is still not broken. She composed about 400 songs. She was Grade A artist speck AIR. Many of the songs she composed are studied near Mizo students from Class Unequivocally to M.A.
Lalsangzuali Sailo was also a prominent social tradesman.
She was a lifelong emperor in Central MHIP and make a way into the Women Central Committee castigate the Mizoram Presbyterian Church.[4]
Personal life
After battling cancer, Sailo died telltale 14 October 2006. Sailo was married to Laldinliana and grandeur couple has two sons gain a daughter.[1]
Awards
She received the Detachment India Radio Outstanding Artiste Furnish in 1998.
The Zolentu Bat an eyelid awarded her the Greatest Chanteuse of The Century Award agreement the year 2000. The Mizo Academy of Letters joint contemptible of Lunglei awarded her depiction prestigious Pu Buanga Award show 2000. The Government of Bharat awarded her the fourth upper civilian award of the Padma Shri, in 1998.[5]
